Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Mladenovic is a representative of the Department of Telecommunication and and IT (J-6) of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.
Dragan is a researcher in the field of information security, cyber conflict and warfare, international law of armed conflict, development of information technologies and international security theories at strategic level for a series of years.
He holds a PhD in Technical Sciences from Belgrade University, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, with the dissertation entitled “Multidisciplinary Aspects of Cyber Warfare”.
Also, Dragan obtained a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995, at the Military Technical Academy in Belgrade; Magisterial degree from Belgrade University in 2011; and a Master’s degree in Cyber Security at the National Defense University iCollege in Washington D.C. in 2016 as a distinguished student.
Dragan is a recipient of the annual award of Belgrade Chamber of Commerce for best post-graduate scientific paper in 2011, as well as numerous rewards for his professional efforts by the Ministry of Defense and SAF General Staff.
He was a representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia in several activities regarding cyber defense and information security organized by domestic and international organizations, such as OSCE. He participated in multiple international and national military and civilian exercises, conferences, and events covering the topics of cyber defense and information security. In September 2015 he held a presentation at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in a public hearing organized by the Defense and Internal Affairs Committee of the Serbian National Assembly with the topic „Defence from the Military Threats in Cyberspace “.
He is an expert representative of the Republic of Serbia at the United Nations Group of Governmental Experts on the developments in the field of information and telecommunications in the context of international security (UN GGE) in the session of 2016-2017.
